My visit to Kedarnath..Its like a dream
come true. Kedarnath is one of the most sacred Char Dhams Kedarnath holds such
religious signifance in India for Hindus. I reached Guptkashi at around 12:00
pm. Reaching Kedarnath Temple is nt a difficult task. However the trek that
leads to the main temple was abit tiring and one testing task. If you are an
adventure junkie, you are surely gonna love it. I landed in New Delhi I took a
bus to reach Dehradun which is about 260 km from Delhi. Then from there I took
a bus to Kedarnath. The distance between Haridwar and Kedarnath is around 125
km.
Standing at an altitude of 3585 m above sea
level ,Kedarnath , a pristine town in Uttrakhand is guided by the mighty peaks
of the Great Himalayas. Devotees flock to Kedarnath to pay a visit ancient
shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva who is the protector of the world. I reached
there at Gaurikund is the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath temple. These
days people are very crazy for the helicopter rides to kedarnath shrine. Most
of the helicopter service provider are based at Phata a distance of 15 km away
from Guptkashi.
The trekking route is approx 15km long from
Gaurikund to Kedarnath Temple. The route is covered by few stops where I got
decent accomodation as well as foods. Moving ahead I was amazed to see the
waterfall on the trek. As it a monsoon season there were few people otherwise
this place is full of devotees. The trek path is narrow . So here the trip
ends. Kedarnath is auitable for 2 kinds of people either for devotees or for
trekkers. Visit this amazing place you are surely gonna fall in love with this
place
