It also happens to be the second largest freshwater river island in the world and the largest in Asia. It is an isolated place. The Brahmaputra flows to the south of the island while the Kherkutia Xuti joins the River Subansiri in the north. The island was once quite large spanning an area of more than 1500 sq km .   Places I visited in Kohima, Nagaland Kohima can be visited throughout the year. Since most visitors prefer to visit during the Hornbill Festival ( 1-10 December ) , it is highly recommended to reserve accommodation in advance during the peak season.   2020 has come, maybe not with a bang as a lot of me may have hoped, but the world goes on and as such I have decided to record my past travels for all to see. I was solo travelling in Northeast India in December and was loving my experiences; even though the infrastructural difficulties meant a lot of time was spent in moving from one place to another.         I always wanted to visit Jaipur and finally on 2nd January 2019 I boarded from Delhi. I visited Jaipur its popularly known as pink city. Pink is the colour of hospitality . I felt very welcomed there . The city is organized in a grid format but despite this setup it still felt like it was an absolute maze. Despite the crazy and chaotic feel of the city.       My visit to Kedarnath..Its like a dream come true. Kedarnath is one of the most sacred Char Dhams Kedarnath holds such religious signifance in India for Hindus.       I've always dreamt of visiting Shimla and I went to Shimla on February 2020. It is a very popular holiday retreat during the summer months and its well known for its Victorian architecture. I really enjoyed there. I spend three days and two nights there. On the first day I arrived there and then I checked into my hotel and freshen up for the exciting evening. Its spectacular hills are dotted with old buildings from the colonial era and the town's bazaars flow with local life and quaint little shops. Snow capped mountains and the green pastures surround Shimla. That was really amazing. I returned back to my hotel after my dinner. I stayed there overnight.
